Ltd Edt : Nick Tonkin's Wild Welsh Heather Honey
Early in August, we mover our bees up onto the Preseli hills. For a few fine weeks, perhaps only days they can work the Wild Ling Heather which yields this intense and rare honey. Not what you might expect, a fragrant bittersweet taste, as wild as the hills themselves.
Queen bee breeder Nick Tonkin rears and nurtures queen bees in his 90 wooden hives at Coedcanlas.
Coedcanlas is nestled on the eastern shore of the Daugleddau Estuary in the heart of Pembrokeshire. Nick grew up on a honey farm and using his families traditional bee keeping and breeding methods, he has devoted his life to developing naturally strong and healthy queen bees.
